Halo: Combat Evolved

Halo: Combat Evolved was the first game in the flagship Xbox franchise.

In addition to leading the design of Halo’s single player campaign and combat systems, I designed the game’s aim assist and control system that brought over 6 million console players to the FPS genre.

Starting from the principle that aiming is the atomic element of fun in an FPS, the fluid, natural experience we created with the first Halo laid the groundwork for the rest of the Halo franchise.  It also turned console FPS games into eSport and opened up console gaming to other multi-million selling console FPS franchises like Battlefield, Call of Duty and Gears of War
