Xbox Fitness

As a Principle Creative Director for Microsoft Studios, I led the creative development of this Xbox One streaming service and Kinect showcase.

A platform launch is an exciting challenge. The launch date is usually set 12 to 18 months before the hardware even exists. For us, this meant building a fitness experience with a year’s-worth of workouts, its own video streaming service, and its own social network.

All of it, worthy of the Xbox brand.

All of it, inside of 14 months. On a continuously evolving Xbox platform.

Results

Immediately following the successful, day-and-date launch with the Xbox One console, we expanded the workout offerings with regular releases of new content, and implemented an advertising and sponsorship program. This let us sign partners like Gatorade who used their professional athletes to create custom workout programs for the service.

In its first six months, Xbox Fitness acquired more than 1.1M users and $2.2M in sponsorship revenue.
